Embryo Cryopreservation |
|
Mouse embryos can be cryopreserved to prevent the accidental loss of a valuable mouse line or to discontinue the maintenance of a mouse stock. The Transgenic Mouse Facility will isolate and cryopreserve 8-cell embryos from superovulated female mice using the slow cooling method. The investigator will be responsible for providing sufficient number of mice. Usually, about 200 embryos per mouse line will be cryopreserved. There are certain mouse strains not amenable to this technique.
